The Olympic Studies Centre (OSC) organises an annual research grant programme designed for:

  • PhD Students engaged in research related to Olympism, the Olympic Movement, or the Olympic Games.
  • Early Career Academics conducting research on similar topics.

The programme focuses on fostering academic exploration of the Olympic Movement's history, ideals, and its societal and cultural impact.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

The following individuals are eligible to apply:

  1. PhD Students:

    • Must be currently enrolled in a PhD degree programme within the human and/or social sciences.
    • Research must include Olympism, the Olympic Movement, or the Olympic Games as one of the focal points.
  2. Early Career Academics:

    • Must have completed their doctorate or equivalent highest degree (including master's, depending on the field) in or after 2024.
    • Includes academic staff members and postdoctoral fellows.
