GLF Restoration Stewards Program 2027

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is now accepting applications for its Restoration Stewards Program 2027. This year-long fellowship supports young experts and practitioners (aged 18-35) who are actively restoring their landscapes with and for their communities.

🌟 About the GLF Restoration Stewards Program

The Restoration Stewards Program was launched in 2020 by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL). It aims to nurture the vision, efforts, and transformative impact of young landscape leaders, particularly:

• Young women
• Indigenous People
• Youth from rural areas

The program operates within a care-based ecosystem of support that emphasizes trust, equity, and collaboration.

🎁 Benefits of the GLF Restoration Stewards Program

Selected Restoration Stewards will receive the following support for one year:

• EUR 5,000 in trust-based funding
• Mentorship from scientific and technical experts
• Capacity development and training opportunities
• Access to a global community of peers and collaborators
• Visibility through global platforms

✅ Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible to apply if you:

• Are 18-35 years old
• Are leading or contributing to a youth-led restoration project that focuses holistically on social and ecological elements
• Work in ecosystems such as:
  • Forests
  • Mountains
  • Oceans
  • Wetlands
  • Peatlands
  • Drylands
  • Rangelands
  • Other landscapes

Priority is given to projects that:

• Are led by young people (18-35 years old) from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America, or the Caribbean
• Are women-led, locally-led, and/or Indigenous-led
• Have been active for at least six months

Applicants will need to submit the following:

1. Details about yourself, your team, and your project
2. A short response on your restoration experience (200 words)
3. A 1-minute video introducing yourself and your motivation
4. A description of your landscape and its challenges (200 words)
5. Project goals, activities, and impact (400 words)
6. Vision for the next year (200 words)
7. A budget plan for the EUR 5,000 funding
8. A photo of your project area
